Hello, I am Julie and I would like to thank you for visiting my website. I am passionate about helping people to care for themselves, developing self-awareness and self-compassion. I do hope that I can offer you some interesting and enjoyable experiences. Please read below to find out a little bit more about my work.
Psychotherapy Experience
A highly qualified and experienced Psychotherapist and supervisor in private practice with Serenity Centre and the prestigious Harley Therapy of Harley Street, London. I have spent nine years working within corporate and private settings, alongside volunteering for mental health charities such as MIND and Frontline19. My positions have included the strategic and operational management of psychological wellbeing teams and clinical supervision of practitioners.
I am registered with the UKCP and specialise in working with adults, older people, couples and groups. I have an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy and as such I am able to draw upon a variety of theories, tools and skills including transactional analysis, developmental theory, attachment, object relations, gestalt and psychodynamics among others to support my work with a diverse range of clients. In my private practice I work both face to face and online with schizoid, borderline and narcissistic personality structures and presenting issues including but not limited to trauma, abuse, addiction, depression, anxiety, bereavement, life transition and relationship difficulties.
I have a strong track record of building and maintaining successful and effective relationships with clients. I provide and create bespoke treatment plans to ensure that each client receives individualised tailored support specific to their needs, empowering them to make positive changes in their lives. As a Psychotherapist, I am resilient, resourceful and conscientious, committed to upholding the UKCP professional conduct and ethical framework, applying these standards in all aspects of my work.
Mindfulness Experience
My journey with mindfulness started in 2012 when I was introduced to it by a friend. Since then I have practised mindfulness as an individual and part of a group, where I got to experience the benefits of mindfulness first hand. I completed my Mindfulness Teacher Training in 2020 and enjoy sharing this experience with others whether that is through individual or group courses.
Children's Yoga Experience
Yoga is part of my self-care practice along with mindfulness and one day, my daughter asked to join me in doing yoga. My daughter enjoyed the yoga and was inquisitive as to the history and benefits of its practice. I had little knowledge to be able to answer her questions and so I began my Children's Yoga Teacher training to better support her journey and experience of yoga. This training has enabled me to see first hand, the benefit of yoga on the emotional and physical wellbeing of children and hope that by offering this service to your children, they too can experience the positives of yoga.
COVID-19
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic Serenity Centre have made the decision to move all services online. Psychotherapy can be provided via telephone or online platform (Zoom), with all mindfulness and children's yoga courses being delivered via Zoom.
